NEWSHudson Correctional FacilityHudson, ColoradoCornell Companies, Incorporated broke ground on September 18, 2008 for a new 1250 bed medium security correctional facility in Hudson Colorado. The 32 acre 230,000 square foot Hudson Correctional Facility includes an administrative building with inmate processing, medical and visitation functions, four inmate housing units, various inmate support services buildings containing vocational, educational, dining and laundry services, and a maintenance/warehousing facility. James E. Hyman, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Cornell Companies, Inc. elaborated to everyone at the groundbreaking about Cornell's desire to be a good community partner and how happy they were that the community had the foresight to support a favorable vote in the building of the correctional complex. Completion of the project is scheduled for December, 2009. The design/build project team, Miron/Performa, has master planned the correctional complex to add two additional phases which would increase the inmate bed capacity to approximately 4000 beds. |
