NEWSPerforma Sponsors Mountain Bike TeamDuring the summer of 2008, Performa sponsored a local cycling team as part of the firm's belief to help promote active and healthy lifestyles in and out of the workplace. Some of the Performa staff are included on the the team along with other local athletes. The team's main focus is competing in the Wisconsin Off-Road Racing Series known as WORS. WORS is a grassroots mountain bike racing series that consists of 12 events throughout the state of Wisconsin starting in early May and continuing throughout the summer until the end of October. Performa Cycling competes in the series as a team and is awarded participation points based on how the racers finish. The race courses are held at downhill ski resorts and cross country ski areas consisting of rocks, roots, wooded singletrack, switchbacks, hard packed doubletrack and even some wooden bridges and ladders to test the skills of the riders. Performa Cycling also competes in 12 hour endurance mountain bike races, road racing, fall cyclocross, duathalons, and even some triathlons including the Ironman Wisconsin in Madison held in September. |
