Hudson Correctional Facility
Listen
Private prison operator Cornell’s strategic objective for the facility was to build a secure, safe, and efficient facility for multiple clients that could easily be expanded without operational disruption or security compromises.

Engage
The facility’s users’ needs included 1,250 bed medium-security facility to house multiple clients. The 32-acre, 230,000-square-foot Hudson Correctional Facility includes: an administrative building with inmate processing, medical and visitation functions; four inmate housing units; various inmate support services buildings containing vocational, educational, dining and laundry services; recreational programs; and a maintenance/warehousing facility.

Design
The resulting design solution providesfacility flexibility to allow Cornell to house large and small populations from a particular client without wasting space or co-mingling inmates.

"This is really a state of the art prison.  I have been at 11 different prisons that I was stationed at with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and this is probably the nicest." - Rick Veach, Warden at the Hudson Correctional Facility.
