Make a life. Make a living. Make a difference. Giving this purpose the space to thrive has been a rewarding challenge for a unique project with Oglethorpe University, a close-knit campus community with big-city culture and opportunities. Founded in 1835, Oglethorpe is Atlanta’s only co-educational small private college.
Performa was engaged to design the renovation of the campus’ Lupton Auditorium to create a flexible, multi-use space that can be used for music performances, small theatre productions, lectures and/or campus gatherings. A collaborative planning process was used with Oglethorpe stakeholders to develop the new space program. Our team also scanned the auditorium to capture existing conditions and comprehensively plan for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing renovations required for the new space program. The renovation includes provisions for ADA accessibility, including a new exterior plaza with a ramp planned for phase 2 of the project.
